Shahrzad Theater Complex is the first and only privately owned theater complex in Iran. Designed and managed by Shahrzad Jafari, construction began in December 2016 on the former site of Omid Hospital and Maternity Center, and the complex officially began its activities in July 2017.
The complex features five specialized theater venues equipped with modern, state-of-the-art facilities. Its one-sided black box venues include Venue No. 1 and Venue No. 2, each with an approximate capacity of 300 people, as well as Venue No. 3 with a capacity of approximately 110 people.
The complex also includes newer performance spaces located within Iran Theater Boutique, an interconnected part of Shahrzad Theater Complex. These include Venue No. 4, which can accommodate two-sided, three-sided, and four-sided stage configurations with a minimum approximate capacity of 100 people, as well as an environmental performance venue with a flexible capacity depending on the type of performance and staging format.
Venue No. 4 and Venue No. 5, the environmental performance venue, officially opened at Iran Theater Boutique in April 2022.
